At Loctax we're looking for a Backend engineer with skills in Rest APIs to join our team, on a short 3-month contract.

The Role

As we continue to expand our engineering team we are looking for a skilled Rest API developer to join the team to expose a REST-ful API that is documented to our customers so that they can integrate with third-party software.

In this role, the main aim is for you to build a documented REST API with extensive automated tests. You will also explore using OpenAPI in combination with Nest.js.

Must haves:

• Ideally, you will be able to start as soon as possible

• You will be based in the EU/UK or on CET +/- 2 hours, this is a must-have requirement for this position.

• Excellent written and spoken English. Good communication skills.

• Node.js, typescript, javascript experience

• Hands-on experience building and securing REST APIs

• Hands-on experience with relational databases, preferably Postgresql

• Hands-on experience with ORM’s, we use MikroORM

• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks to test REST API’s

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment

• High level of responsibility

Nice to haves:

• Nest.js experience

• Experience building public APIs (versioning, monitoring, logging, …)

• Experience with OpenAPI 3.0

• Experience with Domain Driven Design / Hexagonal architecture

• Experience with AWS API Gateway
